Al Sharqiyah
The Al Sharqiyah region of Oman sits to the east, splayed along a magnificent coast that each year manages to entice many visitors with its serene beauty. The exotic wild life and 42km of seductive beach are the main allures! It is mainly famous for being an important nesting ground for Green turtles, and for this reason has become one of Oman’s most treasured natural reserves, providing visitors with a geographical area that boasts much unspoilt scenery.
You’ll find the capital city of Sur, and other main city of Ibra both embedded with some of Oman’s traditions and history, providing a calm environment that is animated with cultural spirit.
Located close to this area is Sur. Sur is the capital city of the Ash Sharquiyah region in Oman. It sits along the coast, and therefore offers some beautiful beaches, peaceful and unspoilt. There is also much history to explore here, with a calm ambience cast over the atmosphere to create a setting that feels lost in time. In particular, the city is known for its importance with sailors over the centuries.
There was a trade for building wooden ships and making Dhow’s, which is still put into practice to this day. The warm evenings and fascinating sites, along with tranquil nature will easily have you feeling far from any worries.
